In the latest edition of Parade, David Kushner gives us an in depth look at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, specifically the Forbidden Journey Ride. Except for his look into the ride, not much new information is delved into, expect that the Bertie Bots Every Flavored Beans taste "ickily real".

To start off you are greeted by Albus Dumbledore saying "There comes a time when each of us must make a choice between what is right and what is easy", Kushner said that he looked so real he almost wanted to hit him with a spit ball. Next after walking through a room lined with skulls, armor, and brass instruments, you find yourself in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Soon after that you see the trio and they suggest you leave the tour and come play Quidditch. After a few more rooms you get to the ride portion of the Forbidden Journey. You sit in an "old-fashioned, wooden-looking, four-person bench. Hermione puts some floo powder (so you can fly) and you begin to fly with the trio. The advanced ride gives you the feel that you have 360 degrees of motion. As the ride continues you move along the Hogwarts grounds.

Assorted with creatures, powered by robotics, pop up, including a fierce dragon that Ron and Harry must defeat. The fight alas sends them-and you-plummeting into the Forbidden Forest full of crawling spiders. Without spoiling the end, the Journey culminates in a game of Quidditch and an encounter with some familiar-to Potter fans-and terrifying foes.

With the grand opening less than a month away the official verdict of J.K. Rolowing has yet to be handed down. She has been involved heavliy in the creation and design process, but as of early May she has yet to visit the park. If this ride (and the rest of the park) is as incredible as it seems like it will be, we can assume she will love the theme park.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens on June 18th at Universal Orlando.
